Hey beauty fans! As you know I’m one of the trainers at the Tamarua Beauty Academy and I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to do makeup for the stunning Australian Olympian and Melbourne native Morgan Mitchell for the Nitro Athletics Gala.
Morgan is a track and field runner who specialises in 400m and represented Australia in the 2016 Rio Olympics and is part of the Inaugural Nitro Australian Team smashing out new and exciting events at Albert Park. She is a long-standing client of mine and I was stoked that I was able to do her makeup for the Gala.
Morgan doesn’t normally wear much makeup so I kept her skin as natural as possible, starting with Embryolisse Moisturiser to hydrate and prime her skin.
For foundation, Morgan requested that I keep it natural and long wearing. My go-to products that I swear by for that combination are Inglot YSM foundation with a touch of Mac Pro Longwear concealer to give a flawless but natural looking skin. I lightly set her foundation with Laura Mercier translucent powder to lock her base in for the night.
I used Motives Miss Maven Palette for Morgan’s eyes to create a classic look and framed her eyes with my favourite Modelrock Lashes in #266 to make them pop! Not only are these lashes one of ride or die products, you can also buy them in bulk for your kit. Be warned – #266 are intense so make sure your client can handle all the jelly that these lashes have, because they’ll make your eyes bootylicious!
I love a good highlight and because Morgan has gorgeous dark skin, I used Mac highlighter in Global Glow with Mac bronzer in Sun Power to create a glowy bronzed look and finished with a nude bronze glossy lip to compliment her gorgeous skin.
Lastly, I used the Skindinavia setting spray to set Morgan’s entire face to ensure she stays perfect all night long.
All the techniques I used for Morgan’s red carpet makeup are skills we teach and perfect at the Tamarua Beauty Academy. If you would like to learn event perfect makeup like this, head to our website and book into our upcoming courses.
