At the Tamarua Beauty Academy we are passionate and confident that you will complete your course with all the knowledge, understanding and skills that you will need to progress your career to the next step.

All trainers have completed their Training and Assessment Certificate. They are highly qualified with years of experience teaching at Colleges/Tafes, editorial spreads and have worked for prestigious companies and won major industry awards. All trainers STILL work within the hair industry and are well sought after.

All classes will have an intimate classroom experience of no more than 8 students per class, to ensure the greatest experience possible. Competitively priced hair kits will be available to purchase which will contain an excellent selection of products.

A Certificate of attainment is gained on the successful completion of this course. All students will receive 10% off selected products throughout course.

This intense bridal hair styling course is designed for artists that would like to enter the bridal hair industry. Learn the art of clean textured up styles, structured vintage waves, romantic and boho styling and sleek timeless classics.

Students must be 16 years of age or over at the starting date of the course.

Advanced Bridal Hair Styling

8 week course

One night per week for 3 hours (model required each week or you can purchase a mannequin head)

Course Outline Summary:

Week 1 – Model required

Before starting any up styles students need to know the correct way to prep hair and all the secret tips and tricks to ensure they are completely ready for hands on styling.
1A- Teasing, how to create the perfect tease.
1B- Padding, how to make your own and how to correctly secure it.
1C- Face framing and face analysis
1D- Extension application 
1E- How to deal with clients that have Thick, Fine and Curly hair 
1F- Bridal consultation and trials 
1G- How to use a crimper for volume and texture
1H- Veil placement 

Week 2 – Model required

The boho bride loves soft instructed hair that flows. These styles are perfect for beach and outdoor weddings.
2A- Individual client consultation 
2B- boho braided half up style 
2C- Boho/ fairy tail braid with extensions
2D- How to add the perfect accessory 

 Week 3 – Model required

Modern bride- Effortless texture
The modern bride is the most common bride at the moment. She loves the undone texture of knots, bridal buns and rolls. This bride likes the “messy” look but there is a huge line between textured and messy. We will go through how to create volume and texture in a clean none matted way. 
All parts of module 3 to be completed and questions answered and submitted at end of class.

Week 4 – Model required

The Romantic bride loves the idea of a modern-day fairy-tale. With soft cascading curls in a modern up style. 
4A- Individual client consult

4D- Accessory placement 

Week 5 – Model required

The classic bride loves neat structure. The sleek lines and glass finishes compliment this look perfectly.
5A- Individual client consultation
5B- Sleek hair prep and which products suit this style.
5C- Chignon with padding
5D- Chignon without padding
5E- Accessory placement 

Week 6 – Model required

The vintage bride is all about the structured wave. Learn how to create the perfect high fringe and full wave perfection.
All parts of module 6 to be completed and questions answered and submitted at end of class.
6A- Individual client consultation  
6B- Vintage wave, teasing, rod placement extension application and finishing.
6C- Accessory placement 

Week 7 – Model required

Braided Up styles
How to create perfect textured up styles using different braiding techniques. Perfect for bridesmaids and brides that want to be that little bit extra.
All parts of module 7 to be completed and questions answered and submitted at end of class.
7A- Braid placement 
7B- Creating volume and texture 
7C- Braid crown
7D- Faux Braided up style
7E- Dream board

Week 8 – Model required

For the last week of the course you will create any of the looks you have learned over the last 7 weeks. The look will be assessed by the head trainer and social media photos can be taken to use in your port folio.
8A- Dream board to be submitted
8B- Full final assessment client consultation form to be submitted 
8C- Final look

A deposit of $500 (non refundable) is required to secure your place in this course; the balance to be paid prior to commencement of the course, or payment options available.

  • DEPOSIT, THEN PAY IN FULL: A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 using direct deposit must be paid to secure your place in this course.
    Please Note: If choosing this option, you will see the full course fee displayed when booking in. After you’ve booked, your requirement at this point, within 12 hours, is to make a direct deposit of $500. The remainder of the course fee can be paid in full prior to week 1 OR a Payment Plan directly with the Tamarua Beauty Academy will take effect under a signed contract in week 1.
    Payment can be made via direct deposit, cash or eftpos/credit card (a 1.9% surcharge fee will be added when paying with card).

Made available in the course for you to use;
Long hair styling combs, hair padding/nets, tail comb, soft paddle brush, round brush, clips, bobby pins, sectioning clips, elastic bands, hair spray & smoothing cream.

Students will need to bring to class or can buy at a 10% discount from the Academy.

The Academy sells mannequin heads:
Brunette – $150
Blonde – $240
Mannequin head can be purchased at the academy prior to week 1 class.

Head Clamp for Mannequin can be purchased for $20 or stand for $90.

Please ensure if supplying your own mannequin it is 100% human hair. We use heat tools and products that are designed for human hair. We cannot accept responsibility if mannequins are damaged due to poor quality hair.

Social Media Portfolio Shoot (Optional in Week 8 – Final Assessment class)
Our head trainer will work with you to capture professional quality styled images of your work. Images are not photographer grade high resolution, but the resolution is still great and high enough that the images can be used to promote your business on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, your website, promotional/marketing print materials etc. Perfect for getting started.

First image selected from this shoot is $25, subsequent images are $15 each.

Professional Photographer Photo Shoot  
These photo shoots will be conducted at the academy throughout the year with a professional fashion photographer who produces high quality images. Past and present students will be informed via our academy private forum when these photo shoots will be scheduled. The photo shoot intent is that you create a ‘look’ that represents the style of makeup and/or hair style that you want to showcase in your portfolio of work using your own products.

Duration: up to 3 hours  Cost: $150.

Students must have completed the TBA basic editorial hairstyling course or provide certificates or proof of experience in industry. Students will gain advanced skill and techniques and become equipped to work in retail, bridal, photographic, film and fashion industry.

Students must be 16 years of age or over at the starting date of the course.
