This course streams LIVE Online from our Altona campus.
It is a 13 week course, one night per week for 2-3 hours
Models required each week or you can purchase a mannequin head from the TBA.

This all-in-one intensive 13-week course is a combination of our Basic Editorial & Advanced Bridal course designed to streamline your path to Professional Hair Stylist in no time. We are passionate and confident that you will complete this course having gained all the knowledge, understanding and skills to start your career at an advanced professional level.

Basic Editorial:
Week 1
1A- PREP- The what why and how for long lasting results.
1B- HYGIENE- Scalp and hair conditions, how to sanitize and clean tools properly.
1C- Tools of the trade – Tool knowledge and heat control. Equipment recommendations and how to.
1D BLOW WAVES – How to create a sleek and sexy blow wave and how to create a full bouncy blow out.
Week 2
This class is all about the heat tools. You will create volume with big curls, Glam red carpet waves and beach waved perfection
Week 3
This week is all about the humble pony tail. You will be shown 3 different techniques to create a sleek shiny, bridal volume and double pony tail.
3A- How to correctly secure a pony tail.
3B-Sleek and perfect straight pony
3C- Volume textured pony including extension application 
3D- Double extended pony
Week 4
Braids will never go out of fashion. Whether its Kim K braids or a more understated fishtail you will learn 3 different braid techniques and incorporate them into a basic yet stunning up style.
4A- Inside scalp braid
4B- outside scalp braid
4C- boho fishtail braid
4D- braided up style 
Week 5
This week is all about extensions. With most styles you see on social media incorporating extensions in some way shape or form we will show you how to correctly apply clip in extensions. How to not cause any damage to the hair and create a half up style using extensions for volume.
5A- Why use extensions? Which kind to use and how to colour match. 
5B- Clip in extension application
5C-How to correctly use Bobby pins (less is more)
5D- How too create a stunning half up style using clip in extensions.

Advanced Bridal:
Week 6 – Model required
Before starting any up styles students need to know the correct way to prep hair and all the secret tips and tricks to ensure they are completely ready for hands on styling.
1A- Teasing, how to create the perfect tease.
1B- Padding, how to make your own and how to correctly secure it.
1C- Face framing and face analysis
1D- Extension application 
1E- How to deal with clients that have Thick, Fine and Curly hair 
1F- Bridal consultation and trials 
1G- How to use a crimper for volume and texture
1H- Veil placement 

Week 7 – Model required
The boho bride loves soft instructed hair that flows. These styles are perfect for beach and outdoor weddings.
2A- Individual client consultation 
2B- boho braided half up style 
2C- Boho/ fairy tail braid with extensions
2D- How to add the perfect accessory 

Week 8 – Model required
MODERN BRIDE - Effortless texture
The modern bride is the most common bride at the moment. She loves the undone texture of knots, bridal buns and rolls. This bride likes the “messy” look but there is a huge line between textured and messy. We will go through how to create volume and texture in a clean none matted way. 
All parts of module 3 to be completed and questions answered and submitted at end of class.

Week 9 – Model required
The Romantic bride loves the idea of a modern-day fairy-tale. With soft cascading curls in a modern up style. 
4A- Individual client consult

4C- Curled low bun
4D- Accessory placement 

Week 10 – Model required
The classic bride loves neat structure. The sleek lines and glass finishes compliment this look perfectly.
5A- Individual client consultation
5B- Sleek hair prep and which products suit this style.
5C- Chignon with padding
5D- Chignon without padding
5E- Accessory placement 

Week 11 – Model required
The vintage bride is all about the structured wave. Learn how to create the perfect high fringe and full wave perfection.
All parts of module 6 to be completed and questions answered and submitted at end of class.
6A- Individual client consultation  
6B- Vintage wave, teasing, rod placement extension application and finishing.
6C- Accessory placement 

Week 12 – Model required
Braided Up styles
How to create perfect textured up styles using different braiding techniques. Perfect for bridesmaids and brides that want to be that little bit extra.
All parts of module 7 to be completed and questions answered and submitted at end of class.
7A- Braid placement 
7B- Creating volume and texture 
7C- Braid crown
7D- Faux Braided up style
7E- Dream board

Week 13 – Model required
For the last week of the course you will create any of the looks you have learned over the last 7 weeks. The look will be assessed by the head trainer and social media photos can be taken to use in your port folio.
8A- Dream board to be submitted
8B- Full final assessment client consultation form to be submitted 
8C- Final look

Hair Tools & Equipment:

Items needed to be supplied by student:
Round medium brush, wide tooth comb and section clips, as well as,
– hair padding/nets
– clips
– bobby pins
– elastic bands
– hair spray
– smoothing cream

  • We recommend White Sands and NAK products. These can be purchased at the school prior to the course.
  • Student must have the below to complete each practical session:
    – Professional Standard Hair Dryer
    – Professional Standard Curling Wand
    – Professional Standard Straightening Iron with Temperature Control
  • Mannequin head for your practical (can be purchased at the TBA for only $150 ) RRP $180
  • Head Clamp for Mannequin head can be purchased for $20 or stand for $90
    If supplying your own mannequin, please ensure that it is 100% human hair. As we use heated tools and products that are designed for human hair. We cannot accept responsibility if mannequins are damaged due to poor quality hair.

All items required can be purchased at the academy prior to your course start date. These can be picked up at our academy or sent via mail at an extra handling and packaging cost.

Alternatively, student can supply all of their own Equipment and Products for this course.

Miss a LIVE class: If you miss a LIVE online session, you will have access to session VIA FB PRIVATE FORUM.

Assessment & Certification: A Certificate of Completion will be issued based on assessment and successful completion of each unit in every weeks online class. The Certificate will be sent via email in digital format. (If you require a Printed certificate, this will incur an extra cost of $10 and is to be collected from the academy in Altona, it will not be posted).
You will also have lifetime access and direct support from our team – we will always be here for you even after you graduate.
